I am fascinated by the world of work and how it is changing. The days of a ‘steady’ job are over – partly because there are fewer jobs like that around, but mainly because many people are not happy or fulfilled doing the daily grind. They want more. And this is why so many people are starting up their own businesses, or moving from big corporates to firms that better chime with their values.
I work with people who are thinking about taking that leap, or have already made the move and are struggling with the different demands and pressures.
You may think that having been helping people for as long as I have, that when I came to step off the corporate treadmill, I would have all the answers. But actually following this path for three years has been both tougher and more fulfilling than I imagined. I have learned so much. And that makes me better at my job.
Please drop me a line and we can have an informal no-strings chat. I may be able to help.
I studied Engineering and Social Sciences at Newcastle University and, after an early (10 year) foray in TV News, spent the next 20 years in the consulting and IT industry latterly as a Senior Vice President at Capgemini.
Seeking a change in direction, I retrained as an executive coach and for the past three years have worked as a full time coach and mentor. I am also a visiting lecturer on leadership, consulting and change at UCL, Warwick Business School and Said Business School.
I hold an MSc in Coaching and Behavioural Change from Henley Business School (University of Reading).
In compliance with industry practice I receive regular supervision. I also hold full Professional Indemnity Insurance and subscribe to a strict code of ethics (in compliance with the Association for Coaching’s Code of Ethics).
